Bitexco Financial Tower is in District 1, the commercial and entertainment epicentre of Ho Chi Minh City. Designed by Carlos Zapata, an American architect, the design was inspired by the graceful and elegant lotus bud. In Vietnamese culture, the lotus is a symbol of purity, integrity, and optimism.
Bitexco was developed by Bitexco Group. It is 262 m high, spans 68 levels, and is one of the few buildings in the city with a helipad. It cost more than US$220 million to develop.

Saigon Trade Center used to be the tallest building in Vietnam at the time of completion in 1997 and until 2010 it was surpassed by Bitexco Financial Tower.
